Volunteer Opportunities
SOSCV! below is currently looking for volunteers to help in the areas listed below. Brief descriptions of these positions are provided below each title. In addition to the more tactical volunteer positions listed we are also looking for leaders in the business, educational and service organization communities to serve on our Board of Directors. Matching Gifts Coordinator (Non‐Committee position)
This person would work closely with our Treasurer to make sure that all matching gift requests are processed and followed up on in a timely manner. They would also be responsible for updating our matching company list and resources periodically.
Public Relations Director (Marketing Committee)
This person would serve on the Marketing Committee, and would be in charge of writing press releases and arranging SOSCV!’s for press coverage of SOSCV! activities.
Committee Member (Marketing Committee)
This person would serve on the Marketing Committee, and would work with the Chair of the Marketing Committee, and would assist the organization in developing branding and identity within the Castro Valley community. Also, they would work with our Events Committee to help ensure that our promotional materials fit with our branding and identity as it is developed.
Grants Writers/Researchers (Grants Committee)
We are looking for a number of individuals who can assist the Grants Committee in researching or writing grant applications in a wide spectrum of educational areas. SOSCV! intends to pursue grants in all areas of our educational environment which are directly affected by budget cuts.
Committee Members (Sponsorship Committee)
We are looking for a few individuals to help solicit sponsorship support from local businesses. SOSCV! has the contact information for these businesses most of the time, but needs additional help in canvassing the community.
Board of Directors
We look for leaders in business continue to the business, educational and service organization communities to serve on our Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets monthly, either by phone or in person, and shapes the direction of SOSCV!’s strategy going forward.
